On October 5, 2016, Architectural Design & Construction, Inc. (ADC) was awarded an “Award of Merit” (for new residential projects more than $999,001) for their Wailea residence during the 31st Annual BIA Renaissance Building and Remodeling Gala held on Oahu.
Building Industry Association of Hawaii’s annual award recognizes the diversity and excellence in quality construction and design of new and remodeled projects.
The Wailea residence is situated at the top of a crest that overlooks an adjacent golf course that provides open view planes. Utilizing a curved design to make a modern architectural statement, three large curved sliding doors pocket into the adjacent curved walls enhance the view while creating a seamless flow to the pool deck area. The curved lanai roof above has large eight-foot overhangs that cantilevers out to provide protection and eliminates the need for columns. The design incorporates feng shui concepts throughout and maintains a clean contemporary Hawaiian feel that caters to the outdoor living lifestyle.
Chartered in 1955, the Building Industry Association of Hawaii is a professional trade organization affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders, representing the building industry and its associates. The 500 members of BIA-Hawaii are developers, contractors, suppliers, Realtors, architects, financial institutions and a host of other professionals who serve the building industry. BIA-Hawaii takes a leadership role in unifying and promoting the interests of the industry to enhance the quality of life for the people of Hawaii.
